Powderfinger knock back offer to perform at Brisbane AFL grand final – ABC News
The Brisbane band say they are flattered to be offered to perform at the Gabba final, but refuse the invitation to come out of retirement to play the event, suggesting a host of Queensland artists to take their place.

Powderfinger have refused an offer from the AFL to come out of retirement to play the grand final at the Gabba in October.
- It was speculated that Powderfinger would play at the first Queensland AFL grand final
- But the band said via Twitter they would not perform at the event
- The grand final will be played in Brisbane on October 24 due to the coronavirus pandemic
