The Brisbane band say they are flattered to be offered to perform at the Gabba final, but refuse the invitation to come out of retirement to play the event, suggesting a host of Queensland artists to take their place.

Powderfinger have refused an offer from the AFL to come out of retirement to play the grand final at the Gabba in October.
