Fox still in hunt for rugby broadcast rights despite missing deadline – Sydney Morning Herald
The pay-TV network missed RA’s Friday deadline for formal expressions of interest in a new broadcast deal but discussions are ongoing.
Instead of putting forward a whole-of-game broadcast rights package, RA has given potential bidders the option to cherry pick different competitions and pieces of rugby content.
The hard part, however, is that RA is not 100 per sure what next years version of Super Rugby will look like. All indications are that another instalment of Super Rugby AU will run for a second season before a trans-Tasman competition in 2022, but that still needs sign-off from multiple parties.
