Shoulder-charge Shark Chad Townsend facing massive ban for poleaxing Ponga – Fox Sports
Cronulla halfback Chad Townsend is set to pay a heavy price for his vicious shoulder charge on Knights fullback Kalyn Ponga on Friday night.

Townsend has been hit with a grade three shoulder charge for the incident which saw the Sharks playmaker controversially sent off by referee Ben Cummins.
He now faces a three-week suspension if he makes an early guilty plea, and risks a five-week stint on the sidelines if he unsuccessfully tries to overturn the charge – a decision which could have heavy finals implications for the eighth-place Sharks.
