Australian-led study provides another effective treatment for COVID-19 – The Australian Financial Review
International research, led by Australia, has opened up a whole class of anti-inflammatory drugs for the treatment of COVID-19.

The effectiveness of dexamethasone was first reported by the UKs national RECOVERY trial and published in the New England Journal of Medicine in July.
It reduced the risk of death in those critically ill, by 20 to 30 per cent. Now, it has been shown hydrocortisone does the same and is an effective alternative.
There was global concern about the surge in demand for dexamethasone, and this will help to relieve the pressure, said Professor Webb, who is an intensive care clinician.
