Marnus Labuschagne has thrust himself into Twenty20 World Cup contention as his bid to become Australia’s next all-format international player gathers steam.

Both men, however, face massive hurdles breaking into the T20 side for the first game against England on Saturday morning (AEST), as skipper Aaron Finch and David Warner – whom Langer described as the best white-ball opening combination – and Steve Smith have a stranglehold on the top-order positions.
