Nick Weeks was recently considered a potential future NRL chief executive. But his role as chief operating officer has become redundant.

Nick Weeks is the big-name casualty in the NRLs restructure of its executive team as the governing body begins the process of slashing costs at head office.
As reported by the Sun-Herald, the NRL is aiming to slash its operating and administration expenses by at least $80 million a year as part of the biggest cost overhaul in the games history.
