Hoop injured at Monday’s Pakenham meeting
Damien Thornton will miss the first month of spring after suffering an injury on Monday at the Pakenham Synthetic meeting.
Thorton’s runner, Surangani, copped a check in the early stages of Race 3, which led to his right foot getting caught between two horses, twisting and crushing it at the same time.
Forced to pull his runner up and finish the race well behind the field, Thorton sought medical attention immediately after the race and had to forfeit his remaining ride as he was sent to hospit…
