‘Astonishing’: How Choco turned Jake Riccardi into a Giant prospect – The Age
Jake Riccardi has announced himself on the AFL stage but, after being overlooked in two national drafts, it was a spell at Werribee under Mark Williams that got him there.
An assistant coach at GWS in the club’s first two years, Williams took on the coaching job at Werribee a few months after Riccardi, who had been passed over by all 18 clubs in the 2017 and 2018 AFL drafts, signed on with the VFL club.
“He honestly wasn’t in my thinking of first-up playing senior footy at Werribee,” Williams said.
