Whincup takes 11th Townsville win – Supercars.com
Jamie Whincup has eaten into Scott McLaughlins championship lead with an emphatic victory in the opening race of the NTI Townsville SuperSprint.
Making the most of ARMOR ALL Pole Position, Whincup controlled the race from the start, only losing the lead during the pitstop cycle.
Chaz Mostert gave chase before undertaking a four-tyre pitstop on lap 16 of 39, triggering Whincup in the following lap, taking three new tyres on his Red Bull Holden.
