Joe blows in to help Essendon stay in hunt for the finals – The Age
Joe Daniher showed Essendon fans what they have been missing out on – and may miss out on in the future – stunning Hawthorn with a spectacular, fairytale return to top-flight football.

Daniher’s finishing wasn’t perfect but his mere presence in attack, combined with Cale Hooker, Anthony McDonald-Tipungwuti and Jake Stringer provided numerous headaches for the Hawks, who wilted after completely commanding the first half.
Ominously, Daniher had nine marks (four of those contested) in the second half.
Making matters worse for Hawthorn, luckless forward Jonathon Patton suffered a suspected calf injury early in the match.
