Ellen Pompeo has opened up about the devastating impact her mother’s death had on her life.
In 1974, the Grey’s Anatomy star lost her mother, Kathleen, to an accidental painkiller overdose. Kathleen was 39 and Pompeo was just four at the time. 
The death understandably left a massive hole in Pompeo’s life, with the star admitting she felt resentment towards her mother for a long time.
