US Navy shipbuilder Austal tips stronger defence market – The Australian Financial Review
Austal talks up potential to build steel-hulled warships after posting record revenue and earnings.

Mr Singleton said subsequent contact with the DoD had confirmed Austal was a significant part of the defence industrial base in the US.
“Immediately after the FFGX decision was made we were contacted by the DoD, who asked us to invest in steel shipbuilding activities at Mobile because they see a lack of capability and facilities in the US for the shipbuilding programs coming up,” he said.
