Apple apparently blocked WordPress app updates to force IAP support – Yahoo Finance Australia
Apple’s push to make sure developers aren’t getting paid via apps without using its gateway (and providing the company a cut) apparently cut off updates to the WordPress app on iOS for a while.
In yet another example of Apples increasingly-strained relationship with developers, WordPress founder Matt Mullenweg tweeted that the free WordPress app on iOS hadnt seen updates for a while because we were locked by App Store. According to his tweet, there was no way for the company to issue updates or bug fixes until it caved to a demand support in-app purchases (that Apple would receive a cut of) for its WordPress.com plans.
