How Wayne Bennett got Steven Marsters eating metres instead of Macca’s – Sydney Morning Herald
The Rabbitohs rookie and emotional eater was downing fast food two to three times a day before the supercoach threatened to sack him.
“I was eating emotionally, but mine was bad. I was eating Macca’s or Hungry Jacks two or three times a day. It was my discipline and my attitude to training and my body as well.”
The message from the seven-time premiership-winning coach was simple: lose weight or face the axe.
“He definitely threatened to sack me and that hurt me, it scarred me,” Marsters said.
