Fremantle assistant David Hale says forward line mix is keeping out star Jesse Hogan from the best 22, while it could have hurt Cam McCarthy’s career.

Fremantle assistant coach David Hale says the balance of their forward line and the wet conditions of the past few weeks has kept forward Jesse Hogan out of the Dockers best 22.
The 25-year-old has not been seen at AFL level since round 5 because of a calf strain, but he has been fit to play the last fortnight.
There was an idea floated to use him as a defender to help cover for injured backmen Joel Hamling, Alex Pearce, and Griffin Logue, with Hogan used in defence in practise games.
