Victoria and NSW recorded their lowest daily infection counts in weeks on Friday, while there were no new infections elsewhere in the country.
Stage four and three lockdowns are inflicting pain on Victorians, Premier Daniel Andrews has acknowledged, but he has tried to rouse the public to keep adhering to restrictions for three more weeks.
“I think we get a pretty good picture that there is a lot of pain out there, grief and loss, and it is challenging. But these strategies are working and we can be right in being hopeful we’ll get to the other side of this,” Mr Andrews said.
