Champion passes away at Coolmore’s Australian farm
Coolmore is mourning the death of champion Atlantic Jewel.
The breeding giant announced her passing on Friday morning, after giving birth to a foal by US Triple Crown winner Justify.
Atlantic Jewel suffered a fatal hemorrhage. The colt foal survived.
Trained by Mark Kavanagh, the champion and multiple Group 1 winner saluted in 10 of her 11 career starts, amassing $1.5m in prizemoney.
