Emergency doctor with coronavirus who was put on a ventilator speaks out – 7.30 – ABC News
In July news outlets around the country reported a doctor in his 30s was clinging to life in a Melbourne intensive care unit with coronavirus. His identity hasn’t been revealed until now. Dr Yianni Efstathiadis and his wife, Dr Brit Green, tell their story.

DR YIANNI EFSTATHIADIS: I worked in the emergency department. I think everyone, patients, doctors, nurses, everyone alike is pretty scared at the moment.
NADIA DALY, REPORTER: For months Dr Yianni Efstathiadis has been treating COVID patients in the emergency department of Melbourne’s Northern Hospital.
