Storm utility Brandon Smith has given Melbourne an ultimatum surrounding his future at the club should Cameron Smith extend his career into 2021.
Melbourne will have both Tigers loan player Harry Grant and Brandon Smith on their books next season if Cameron Smith retires, but both their positions at the club are now in doubt if he plays on.
Grant has a clause in his contract that allows him to play elsewhere, while the New Zealand hooker Smith has formally requested a release should his namesake play into a historic 20th season, according to The Sydney Morning Herald.
