Queensland aged care residents ‘volunteered’ at centre checkpoint amid COVID-19 scare – Brisbane Times
Part of the Immanuel Gardens site in Buderim was locked down this week after four residents — since cleared of the virus — began displaying respiratory symptoms.
Nick Ryan, chief executive of centre operators Luthern Services, said the practice had been brought to light by a “recently changed” management team.
“It has come to our attention that prior to this change, some independent living residents in the retirement village previously volunteered their time to assist in the visitation checkpoint,” he said in a statement.
