Okay, most British Prime Ministers receive an annual invitation to Balmoral, so it’s not that surprising Tony Blair was invited during his time as PM.
What was surprising, however, was what he said of his visits to the Queen’s estate.
Calling his stays there “intriguing, the surreal, and the utterly freaky”, he recalled indulging in booze with the royals and being stunned by them doing “normal” things like Prince Philip cooking up a barbecue or Her Majesty doing the washing up.
