Birmingham could end up on a list of areas most at risk of a local lockdown within days, public health officials have warned.
The city’s coronavirus infection rate has more than doubled in a week – with more than 300 new cases.
Director of public health Dr Justin Varney said it was likely the city would feature in the national “watch list” of places most at risk of intervention within days.
There is no sign of the current rise in Covid-19 cases easing off – with 321 new cases in the past week…
