Pacific island workers in the Australian state of Victoria are facing the impacts of strict COVID-19 restrictions imposed on meatworks as part of the state’s response to rising cases of the virus.
At least 300 cases have been linked to abattoirs and other meat processing facilities, and as a result, the Victorian government has ordered a 33 per cent reduction of meatworks staff.
