More than 11,000 homes lose power as storms with spectacular lightning hit south-east Queensland

Severe storms have lashed parts of south-east Queensland, providing a spectacular light show as more than 11,000 households lost power.

An intense storm cell moved over the Brisbane area after 6pm, bringing heavy rain, strong winds and hail while causing delays for Friday evening commuters.
