Australia’s unemployment rate has edged up to 7.5 per cent, with almost 115,000 jobs created in July.
- Unemployment was expected to jump from 7.4 to 7.8 per cent, but only rose to 7.5 per cent
- Hours worked rose by 1.3 per cent as 43,500 full-time jobs were added and 71,200 part-time jobs
- Underemployment dropped by half a percentage point, even as participation in the labour market rose
