Unique oil-powered Fowler Road Locomotive being restored in Booleroo Centre
In the early 1900s, the English engineering company John Fowler & Co predicted the demise of steam engines and, betting on the future, sought to develop oil-powered tractors.
One of them, a 1912 Fowler Road Locomotive, is thought to be the only one made by the company left in the world.
