Can 500,000 ‘new-collar’ jobs turn manufacturing around in Australia? – ABC News
Australia’s manufacturing industry has the potential to create thousands of jobs in the “digital-meets-manufacturing world”, according to Andrew Liveris, who has been an adviser to the Trump and Obama administrations.
Australian manufacturing jobs were down 6.7 per cent over the last five years, and the sector only contributes 5.6 per cent to GDP despite some $4.6 billion of investment, according to new research by professional services firm EY.
