A father has tragically been killed in a lawnmowing accident at his workplace in Queensland.

Peter Hockey, 54, was on the first day of his new job as a groundskeeper at Preston Peak Winery, south of Toowoomba, when his ride-on mower crashed into a tree about 2pm on Monday.
