Things have gone from bad to worse for the struggling Broncos with news that star forward Matt Lodge has suffered a season-ending knee injury.

The club released a statement on Wednesday to confirm news saying the injury was suffered in Round 7. The 25-year-old has had ongoing pain since then, which prompted more scans on Tuesday that found a hairline fracture in his tibia.
He originally injured his knee during the Round 7 match against the Titans, with the initial prognosis not expected to be serious.
