Wages growth slumps to lowest in 23 years – The Australian Financial Review
Wage growth in the June quarter was the slowest since records were kept.

The low wages growth will place further pressure on negotiations about whether to extend emergency changes to the Fair Work Act. The emergency rules enabled employers to vary the hours worked and duties performed during the COVID-19 crisis.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison has argued that extending the emergency changes would give businesses the flexibility they need to keep people in jobs. Maintaining high hours may mean some businesses would have to cut staff.
