No, it isn’t ‘cheating’ to ride an e-bike – Sydney Morning Herald
Despite their increasingly covert batteries, e-bikes have all the key advantages of a regular treadly when it comes to ease of parking, lowered emissions, reducing congestion and improving health.
Cheating. It’s a word I’ve heard used on a few occasions from e-bike riders when our paths have crossed possibly as a salve in case my ego is bruised by their speed.
And I’ve certainly heard it used by cyclists who ride traditional bikes, and people who don’t ride at all, when discussing the concept of power-assisted pedalling, in which an electric motor adds oomph to a rider’s effort.
