A controversial case involving the suicide of a teenage boy in America is set to get the Hollywood treatment.
The Great star Elle Fanning has signed on to play Michelle Carter, who in 2017 was convicted of involuntary manslaughter after a judge ruled that she had encouraged her boyfriend to take his own life.
Carter was 17 years old when her 18-year-old boyfriend, Conrad Roy III, killed himself in July 2014.
