Traditional owners in Western Australia are continuing to mourn the desecration of ancient sites by mining giant Rio Tinto, while the industry has acknowledged the need to improve its relationships with Aboriginal people.
Rio has faced significant fallout from its destruction of the Juukan Gorge rock shelters on Puutu Kunti Kurrama and Pinikura (PKKP) country in WAs Pilbara region earlier this year.
