Waratahs sparkle under old skipper but departing Simmons to keep captaincy – Sydney Morning Herald
Michael Hooper led the way against Queensland but insiders say Rob Simmons’ contribution to the Waratahs has been immense.
Hooper led from the front in a strong team performance and looked relaxed and satisfied when, in a rare occurrence, he was subbed off midway through the second half.
But any suggestion he would stay in the captain’s role was snuffed out by NSW sources on Sunday.
