A man who had hiccups for several days recently tested positive for the deadly virus, sparking the reported connection.
In a case report published to the American Journal of Emergency Medicine, the man was not suffering from the telltale signs of COVID-19.
The 62-year-old patient was a diabetic but did not have a fever or a sore throat.
