This arvo I witnessed this extraordinary event in my garden featuring a kookaburra, a baby possum and some noisy miners. Kooky got himself some dinner, but bit off more than what he could chew or swallow. Too big to swallow, he would frequently wack the now expired baby possum against the tree branch, while occasionally regurgitating it, then trying to swallow it again. All while the miners are trying to move him along, as he is having dinner close to their nest. So kooky would move to a different branch, taking his dinner along, and the whole process would start again. This went on for maybe half an hour until the kookaburra got tired of all the attention, took his possy-bag and left – maybe to go and feed the kids.
