‘Bubble’ surrounding our planetary neighbourhood is key to understanding life on Earth and elsewhere in the universe

Nasa has revealed the strange shape of our solar system: a deflated croissant.
The new findings came after researchers used data from a variety of Nasa missions to plot out the shape of the magnetic bubble surround all of the planets in our system.
Traditionally, depictions of that bubble have shown it as something like a comet, with a rounded leading edge and a long trail behind it.
