Damian Barrett backs AFL decision to stand down Mitch Cleary – The Age
AFL Media’s senior reporter Damian Barrett has defended the league’s decision to temporarily stand down his colleague Mitch Cleary.

Barrett said on his weekly podcast The Sounding Board that his support for Cleary occurred behind the scenes once he became aware of what had happened, but he said he understood why the AFL, as the website’s proprietor, made the decision to stand down Cleary.
“It was the right decision for an organisation to reflect upon what he did,” Barrett said.
