Once Were Warriors: How Payten broke NZ hearts on live TV – Fox Sports
A strange thing happened on NRL 360 on Monday night. The interim Warriors coach Todd Payten had just given us a pre-recorded interview from the team’s Central Coast headquarters.
He talked at length about leading the team in a new direction and his interest in taking the gig full-time.
Then, unexpectedly, he rang the control room to drop an absolute bombshell.
