Hottest October day since 2004 on public holiday stinker

By midday on Monday Brisbane had hit 29.5 degrees. The temperature at the Gold Coast Seaway reached 27.5, Sunshine Coast Airport was 33.9, the Ipswich suburb of Amberley hit 34.8, Gatton in the Lockyer Valley got to 34.8, and Beerburrum in the Moreton Bay region hit 35.7 degrees.
