There’s nothing wrong with finding an outlet for relaxation during the torpor of locked-down life on the road, but if the senior coach doesn’t check the rules and then stuffs up as his vice-captain Steele Sidebottom did so egregiously it makes it harder for team leaders to bring younger players into line.
What can Buckley say to a 20-year-old kid who bends the rules, or goes on a bender? Best handball that job to the skipper Scott Pendlebury, or to football chief Geoff Walsh.
