St George Illawarra utility Tristan Sailor was on the verge of joining Wests Tigers on a loan deal before Sonny Bill Williams Sydney Roosters return scuppered the move, Wendell Sailor has revealed.
Williams landed at Sydney airport on Thursday evening after this week signing a short-term deal with the Chooks following the Toronto Wolfpacks decision to pull out of the Super League season.
Roosters outside back Asu Kepaoa subsequently signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Wests Tigers.
