‘People need access to their money’: Frydenberg defends super access – The Australian Financial Review
The Treasurer has hit back at Labor’s criticism of the early release of retirement savings, saying the opposition needs to get real.

Mr Frydenberg said Labor’s criticism of the scheme was “bizarre”, given the opposition had voted to extend access rules in Parliament.
“They need to get real,” he said. “This is about giving people access to their own money, and people need access to their own money at times of hardship.
“Superannuation doesn’t belong to the government and it doesn’t belong to the superannuation fund managers. It belongs to the Australian people.
“We’re going through a once-in-a-century pandemic.”
