Opera Australia brings down the curtain on 2020 – Sydney Morning Herald
Opera Australia has postponed its eagerly awaited presentation of Richard Wagner’s The Ring, and will stage no more performances this year.
Opera Australia CEO Rory Jeffes said the decision to postpone was devastating.
“We wont be back on stage with a main-stage production in 2020, which I still find very difficult to say, but that is the reality,” he said.
“The hardest thing for any of us is that any information we hear about the future is based on hope or fear and not on any facts, because no one knows what is going to happen over the coming weeks and months.”
