Lions lose three players after Round 8 – Brisbane Lions
Brisbane’s ruck stocks have been depleted while a pair of veteran defenders are also ruled out.
The Lions well established system of playing two recognised ruckmen is now set for an overhaul with Archie Smith joining Stefan Martin on the sidelines.
Martin will be missing for up to eight weeks with a stress fracture in his back leaving Oscar McInerney as the sole ruckman.
Smith suffered a syndesmosis injury in Sundays four-point win over Melbourne and will be in a moon boot for the next two weeks.
