A coronavirus surge in Florida, California and a handful of other hard-hit states could be peaking while other parts of the country may be on the cusp of growing outbreaks.
“That’s a surefire sign that you’ve got to be careful,” he said.
Fauci has become a lightning rod for some supporters of President Donald Trump who accuse the 79-year-old health official of exaggerating the extent and severity of the US outbreak and playing down possible treatments.
