Rising New Zealand basketball player Yanni Wetzell has signed to play for the South East Melbourne Phoenix in the Australian NBL.
Wetzell, who starred for the San Diego State Aztecs in the United States college system, had been training with the New Zealand Breakers.
But he will cross the Tasman for his home base after deciding to start his professional career in Victoria.
