Eddie claims ‘whole thing was a rort’ as former official confirms Hawks took amnesty – Fox Sports
A former Hawthorn official believes many teams were “rorting” the salary cap during the club’s golden era across the 1980s and 1990s.
John Hook, who was Hawthorns football manager from 1988 until 2004, told The Age he wasnt surprised at the latest revelation which could potentially tarnish the Hawks dominant period.
Club great Don Scott claimed Hawthorn was paying players outside the salary cap, through a secret account in Tasmania.
