Researchers are calling for volunteers for a study into whether obesity and diabetes cause more severe symptoms of the disease.
The rationale before the current pandemic was that for the next influenza pandemic, even if its mild, the simple proportion of people who are now living with diabetes would make it potentially a severe pandemic, Dr Short said.
It turns out the next pandemic wasnt flu, it was coronavirus, but we’re seeing exactly the same trends.
The researchers will look for how long peoples immune response to the virus lasts and whether the length of immune response is different for different people.
