‘Carnage from start to finish’: Jockey hospitalised, horse euthanised – Sydney Morning Herald
Andrew Adkins broke his collarbone and leg to continue a horror run of injuries after falling on Hot ‘N’ Hazy, who was euthanised at Rosehill.
Five jockeys appeared before the stewards following the incident involving horses ridden by Bowman and Adkins.
A hush fell over the crowd as fellow jockeys sprinted to Adkins’ side, fearing the worst for the horseman.
He was taken to hospital after Bowman, in his first ride back from a winter break, appeared to shift out on the eventual winner.
